DIALUP NETWORK PROBLEM........

hey last week one of my frnd ROHIT was playing with system32, registry, gpedit etc on his PC. After this his outlook express was not working. it gives some message like this "msoe.dll is not installed or not found."

so he repair his system by REPAIR OPTION by winXP pro cd. after repairing (after 55 min.) his outlook is working fine, but now there is another problem. His dial up networking is not working:

NEW CONNECTION WIZARD>> CONNECT TO THE INTERNET>> SETUP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY>>>>
it showing 3 option ,
1> connect using dial up modem greyed in color
2> connect using broadband connection username/password greyed in color
3> connect using broadband connection that is always on

1st & 2nd option are greyed in color, only 3rd option is left to select.
before repairing DIALUP connection was working fine.
in SERVICES.msc, all service related to network are set automatic but could not start.

is the modem installed? is it in proper contact ?
go to control panel--->phone and modem options--->modems--->diagnostics--->query modem
if there is some result, then your modem is in proper contact.

regarding the services, are the started already? check in start-->run--->msconfig--->services

Don't mess up with the registry anymore !!!

BTW, search the microsoft site for this prob !

One of my buddies faced it and got the solution from there !

try re installing the os n next time backup ur registry before u mess with it

i've restored by REGISTRY BACKUP but no solution, modem is working fine!!! in device manager.
