By 'dap' do you mean Download Accelerator Plus ? If so, there are a number of things that can be set according to your preference in Options->Preferences.

Please expand your question a bit so that we can understand exactly what you want to do or not do. Also mention which version of DAP you're using.

I'm still not quite clear about the kind of link you want to avoid downloading. Is it something like -
*www.abc.com/nextpage/xyz.zip or *www.abc.com/nextpage/xyz.jpg

If this is the case, go to Options-->Preferences-->General
Edit the contents of the box under "Automatically start downloading the following extensions".
Also untick "Automatically start downloading document extensions"

Also go to Options-->Preferences-->Advanced
Change settings as necessary under "Start download behaviour"

Also do a scan for viruses and spyware with updated software.
