Hi, I want to set custom folder icons to many folders. What I have planned is i will copy the icon i want to set for the particular folder to that folder and rename it as folder.ico

I know that the desktop.ini should show this link in such case
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=Folder.ico
IconIndex=0
However, the icons are not being set with this until and unless I customize it from the right click menu.

There are two issues with me changing the folder through right click and change icon

1. As i want to set icons for many folders it will be hectic to do it from the right click menu.

2. The right click way takes the whole path for the icon and so I have to edit the desktop.ini file to show only folder.ico instead of e:\new\newer\folder.ico Over here i am customizeing the icon for newer folder
What can i do

if you want to replace the folder icon (for all folders), you can do it from Tools>Folder Options>File Types, or Tune-Up utilities or any other third party utils (google)... but if you want to change specific folder icons only, i think you'll have to do it manually... BTW, i knew a program that could do it, but I cant recall its name... Google may help...

I want to keep different folder icons for different folders. The reason behind keeping the icon file in that folder itself is to get that icon-folder combination irrespective of the comp, I am using. This would be possible as that icon file will be within that folder.
