I use DeVeDe in Open SuSE to create VCD and DVD. Its simple drag, drop and make iso image. This iso image can be burnt to a cd or dvd using K3b or any other image burning software.

If you use Open SuSE install DeVeDe from Packman repository.

If you don't have SuSE check here *www.rastersoft.com/programas/devede.html
I don't have idea about other distros.
