free things cannot have a good quality. u need to understand the economics behind it.
refer *en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_good. since bandwidth is not unlimited so it cannot be Non-rivalrous & Non-excludable at the same time. so broadband will never be free, but it will definitely get cheaper.

REAL FREE broadband?

If they want to give free broadband, they must first give free dial-up service because it is a lot easier to connect through dial-up considering that a large no. of people in urban areas have landlines phones.

Broadband required special infrastructure, and boy you want it free? (hmmm....actually....even I love free things......)

Also, if that was to materialize, the quality of broadband would be so degraded that TRAI will have to change the definition of broadband. Indian ISP cannot even stand true to the speed of 256 kbps
