Right off the assembly line
hi, lately (but i dont know exactly when) my cpu started going crazy!!
it doesnt seem to be stable.

when i checked the "CPU USAGE" from the task manager the graph would go from 100% to 20% back to 70% down to 15% and soo on... this is causing the windows to have small pauses (i.e. my mouse doesnt move around smothly and my windows media players doesnt play the songs smoothely either.... etc. )

i tried uninstalling some programs and still nothing...plus i have a 730 RAM on my computer so i dont think its cuz i have a low memory problem. I also tried scaning my computer for viruses, trojans, spyware, scandisk, defragment.... NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK

please someone help me :( :(

Scan ur PC for any trojans etc.. These mostly take up resources...

Also enter ur Task manager > process tab > click on the CPU twice and see which process is taking the highest resources on the whole and post it here.

i did scan for torjans amd i couldnt find anything...

the program that most uses the CPU is:

System Idle Process

But then there are many others jumping in after it like
Svchost.exe
Explorer
System
csrss ....etc (ITS NOT STABLE)

plus i think that the problem lies with the booting of the system itself cause since this problem started occuring the windows was taking a lot longer time to start up
Also at startup before any program loads the "windows tone" (the one that sounds when the windows starts) isnt smooth

any advice....thx alot

well there is a difference between the "csrss" which i have and the "crsss" which you posted...so is the one i have still a virus...
plus when i tried stopping it from the task i get the message:

"this is a critical system process. task manager cannot end process"

so what do u think?

Okie, I am sorry, jus a typo mis-understanding, but this csrss is a System process and is required for stable operation of XP and thus cant be terminated but here in your case its the one unstable...

See a few vulnerablities here...

Enter "msconfig" and see if this process is present there or not (startup and services).
If it is then its prolly a Virii
If no, i dunno...
