Configuring modem in Linux

Can anyone help me with configuring my PCTel HSP56 MR Modem in RHL 9? I really can't find a solution. Thanks.

try searching the net for linux drivers for ur modem. else get the generic information abt ur modem and use the Internet Configuration Wizard in to configure ur modem.post here for more help.

ps:u should really post these problems in the open source section for better response.

PCtel modem comes with driver for LINUX along with driver for windows. look it cd and there is instruction also included in that !

a google search threw up the following

a plausible option seems to be

seems u need to make a free registration.
i hear pcqlinux is based on fedora, so this should work for you.

btw though i am not sure, it appears that the modem u mentioned is a winmodem.a winmodem is different from an ordinary modem in the respect that unlike generic modems which have a specialised chip for analog-digital conversion,it uses the host cpu for that purpose.
if it is so,then u may find it difficult to find proper functional drivers as the programming details for these modems are proprietory and compiling drivers for them is quite difficult.
