Ram amount & cpu depends on your type of work.
I will suggest :
Intel Q9300 & 4 GB Ram.
For Gfx Card - Buy Asus EN8600GT 256MB GDDR3
If you have the moolah then go for Pioneer DVD Ram writer anyway lite-on is also good.
Buy abit IP35E ( For ASUS can you mention model name or your budget. )
For cabby go for CM elite 330 & A vip or powersafe 450W psu.

Q9300 @ 4GB Corsair 800Mhz XMS ram
GFX : Palit 9600GSO 384 MB 6.5k
Dont get Liteon, now a days lots of trouble. Asus 20X Sata Lightscribe: 1.4k
Abit IP35-E :
Zebronics Cabinet w/o PSU 1k
CM EP 500W : 2.5k

^^ Yeah, Palit 9600GSO is great VFM card now ( Price & Performance both is great )
Go for Palit 9600GSO 384MB GDDR3 Edition if you don't care much about support.

Is Palit after sales service that bad ?. Any other brand G Card you would like to suggest ?

Also is there any point in waiting for say 15-20 days.....here 9450 processor prices are coming down ?

yea u should ..coz there's no point in getting a Q9300
better get Q6600 or Q9450 if its price falls.
Palit has done some improvements now.earlier it was bad.asus is worse due to RP tech or Asus itself

Cabinet - CM Elite 330
PSU - CM 460W

Ok.....i found one more card which supposedly outperforms 8600GT at its price -- the RX3650 512/1G version.....its available at 6.5K.

But opt only HD 3650[DX10.1] 256/512 GDDR3/GDDR4 only. GDDR2 even if 1GB is just waste.
It might be around 5k now. But a 9600GSO for 6.5~7k sounds better.

The former is more future proof while latter is better performer
