Computer shows blue Screen

My computer is Athlon Sempron with 256 MB RAM. I'm using PCI Smartlink 56K Voice Modem.

Often (Mostly when connected to the internet) i get BSD, which says

the computer have been halted to prevent damage (not sure of this part)
.......................... select safe mode.

Can this be due to a corrupt modem driver or a hardware failure

PTSERIAL.sys has to do with the modem. It suggests that you are running a pctel micromodem - you could try updated drivers for it.

ok. I have downloaded the latest driver from
*www.smlink.com/content.aspx?id=147

I will post again and tell if this solved my problem
