Hey guys, i need a computer setup more or less basic with a budget of Rs15000...this is my backup computer,& since my dad uses it,the requirements are internet surfing, watching movies, music etc...also looking for a board which supports upto 1600 x 900 resolution since the particular comp uses DELL IN 2020M monitor.

15000 should be divided in :-

i already own :-

pls help me decide a fast but optimum computer setup for this budget...hoping to buy this by tom or day after...

Also note that i amlooking for a music system but it is excluding of this budget...looking for a music system with a 2k budget..pls suggest one..thanks a lot

(pls note that i have a different thread going on with sb config, this is for a different computer altogether)

Better than core i3.

I think he can manage with a low end CPU like x 250. Good question u asked about PSU. He can buy FSP Saga 350W. Total budget remains almost same.

Just because he mentioned 15k budget you go ahead and suggest him overkill stuff.

This configuration is nice and recommended. A quadcore in a 15k budget is simply amazing.

@ Ronnie

Go for the amd athlon x4 system eyes closed. Its the best for the budget.
For speakers, look at altec lansing vs 2621 @ 1.6k Get them and you are covered.

Btw,do you have an oem psu? I mean the ones given by dell?

@Jas: IMO Creative T6100 or T6160 or 6200 comes pretty cheap & I know they are decent 5.1 setups & i heard they perform better than logitech x530 & X540.

Any comments.

Actually his use is backup, movies. So how will a quad benefit him? What is needed is good 5.1 set for movies.

From a performance point of view x4 is the better choice and more future proof. But that 5.1 is a great set and will definitely help the op in watching movies. So good choice jas.

Agree with ur suggestion Jas...

@Ronnie11 : Go as Jas suggested if u dont want a Quad core CPU.. The Athlon X3 + 2GB RAM are more enough for ur needs... Invest the rest of money in the speaker system as your use is mostly watching movies n music.

sry for the late reply guys since i have to go to a cybercafe now to reply....erm its not necessarily for backup, this is for my dad who uses it for office work....should i go for the amd confi orthe intel i3 suggested...also i do not need a 1tb hdd...500 gb would suffice...there are 2 amd configs suggested, which one should i go for x3 or x4??How much difference is there? Also i cannot exceed 15k....

regarding the power supply, its the one with the cabinet,so not very efficient...but did the job with my amd x2 4800 confi before...
