Choose between Liteon & ASUS DVD Drives & Writers

    Can u guys opine which is a better choise. Liteon or Asus for both Dvd Rom and Dvd writer.

    i would say liteon for both... cause if you buy a liteon dvdrom then you can download free firmware from the net to make it region free.. and liteon cdrws are a lot better than asus.... so go for asus.. unless u r in a cult that follows asus...

    Liteon

    Liteon would be the best choice. Liteon is also firmware upgradable so that if any media is not compatible, a new firmware can solve the problem without having to upgrade to new model.

    By the way it was in the IT news in May 2004 that SONY has stopped making DVD writers and gets them manufactured by LITEON. So all SONY DVD writers are actually Liteon. Why pay higher for the SONY label when you can get the same Liteon drive cheaper ;)

    I would suggest to go for the new Liteon 16x Double layer DVD writer. Cant wait to get my grubby hands on one of those :)

    Can u suggest the model no. of Liteon DVD Writer as well as DVD Drive.

    what model number?
    just ask for the liteon drive u dun need model numbers for this
