cheats and playability

Hey friends,
I think that a game looses its playability after we know about its cheats and use them in it especially in strategy games. For example: age of empires. You dont feel like fighting for the limited resources in the map when you know the cheats and have no sympathy for your soldiers who die in the battle. If you were to play the game without cheats, you would heal each and every wound of each soldier and try to convert as many opponents as you can.Why deploy a whole military to defend your city when a single photon man or nuke trooper can do the job alone? By using cheats one becomes a sadist in the game. What do you think. All strategists welcomed.

Warm regards
The Strategist,
Anshul

You're right. Games do lose their playability if you know the cheats. You always feel tempted to use them whenever you are in a difficult situation. But they are there for a purpose.

Suppose you are playing a game that has about 30 missions. You reach mission 26 without any probs, but you just can't proceed because it's too damn tough. Does that mean you shouldn't be able to complete the game just because you can't pass one mission?

Or say you have completed a game several times over and feel like playing it again after 6 months. Should you have to go through the initial easy missions just to reach the final few missions that you are intrested in?

Aren't cheats justified then?
