I need to get a cell for my dad.

Since, the phone will be used for only making & receiving calls, the only criteria required is good voice clarity & good battery life. Looks will be considered as a bonus !

Samsung C160 is gud..There is some new entry level model from Samsung which gives 9 hrs talk time..Don't remember the model no though..U can ask the dealer...In between cheap and best doesn't go together..

Well, i am not very keen to go with Samsung. I myself don't know why.

I prefer Motorola, Nokia or SE.

BTW, i forgot to tell then I can spend upto 3k for the cell.

I went through that thread before posting this thread.

Nothing except the budget matches my needs.
The guy over there wants bluetooth, memory & other multimedia features.

On the contrary, I want a simple mobile for making & receiving calls with a good battery life !!!

Nokia 6070 = VGA Camera + FM + Good Looks + All basic features + Colour Display + Infrared + PC synchronization.

A good value for money phone. I suggest you get this phone as there is no point going for a very basic phone. This will suit your dad perfectly.

i got a moto w180 ... truly gr8 phone.

but make sure you don't have any problems with its keypad before buying !
