well this is a strange one.... my friend has bought a new lg cd rom but the problem is that inspite of being identified in windows, the drive does not identify any cd inserted in it in fact the system hangs until the cd is ejected.the same cd rom works perfectly on my system(although windows xp took a long time to boot when i connected it).my friends mobo is an asus k8n and his os is winx xp with sp1.(btw i dont hav any sp installed- could this be the problem???).any answers???(btw the cd rom was changed but the problem remains)
