Cant restore system using 'System Restore'

    I Can`t Restore my system using system restore. Whenever I try to I get a message "System Restore is not able protect your computer.Please restart your computer,and then run System Restore again"
    When I restart my computer I get same message. Please helf me some one.

    I had this once.. backup all your files after scanning for spywares and viruses and format that partition and installl windows XP again. Your "system restore" got corrupted. Sorry !!

    system restore is mostly unreliavble way to back up for os. as no of restore points increases, your chances for restore will decrease. it is better to go for image making software like norton ghost, acronis true image etc.
    for freeware there is "Drive image XML" it can make image of partition, can also be restore from "win PE" bootable CD made with Bart PE

    Never rely on xp system restore. It sucks n alwys fails. Get some other tools...
