I m having a HCL laptop wid AMD TURION X2 T~60 1.6Ghz, 512 mb ram, Toshiba HDD.
Today i formated my c: drive which was having vista installed & i started installing XP from a bootable disk.
now, when d setup copied installation files & restarted, i saw an error (ERROR LOADING WINDOWS) & I restarted my lappy by holding down d power button & after 1 or 2 seconds again pressed to restart. This time i saw my Main screen displaying HCL & AMD TURION (CMOS STARTUP SCREEN) & den i can do nothing. When i press F2 to enter d CMOS den also i cant enter but d screen remains as it is. On pressing tab key, i can see information 488 Mb ram... Ok, mas slave atpai cd rom...ok, sec slave....not detected. HDD...OK. Status...ok but den dis screen remains. Even i cant run any bootable disk. So i cant understand wats d problem?
How to start my laptop? Widout CMOS, BOOTABLE DISK OR ANY RECOVERY CD.
i have heard dat when u press d power key & turn ur lappy directly den u have to wait 5 seconds before again pressing it to avoid HDD damage.
Is it s/w or hardware problem?
Desperately need help.
