Hello all the gurus out there

probably related to the 16 subsystem topic but still starting a new thread on this

when i try to use run commands from START-RUN eg regedit, ping, cmd,etc i get the message

c:\windows\system32\regedi.com
config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows application. Choose "Close" to terminate the application

What is likely to be the problem
Kindly provide a solution

can anybody suggest any other way to edit registry

thanks in advance

I guess you have an XP based system. Here's a microsoft suport article:

Coming back to life ..
First .. Regedit isnt in System32 folder .. Its in Windows directory .. Secondly its not a Com file .. its .exe .. I am sure you got some kind of parasite on your system .. Continue on your first thread ..
