Hi

My mainboard, i815e has Hynix 128MB SDRAM and 2 more slots are available. I am not getting Hynix SDRAM in market.

so, Now can I add RAM of other manufacturer (other than Hynix) to my mainboard.

Does having different RAM brands and frequency cause any damage to machine ?

Which SDRAM brand (other than Hynix) is good ?

you can get elixir, kingston and transcend sticks easily. make sure the speeds are same. other than that you needn't worry about anything.

if sys bus freq is 100mhz and the older stick works at 100mhz then getting a 133mhz one is no problem as it will scale down. but the converse is not true.

there is more to speed as far as ram is concerned and getting the same sped ram does not make it same...but i think if u get a better ram than ur present one u should be able to run it with this one...

But I've seen ppl running into problems because of the same..so i'll say it's not sure...i might work..it might not....
