bohoo!!! my firefox is gone!!

i have(had) firefox 1.03 installed.
recently i installed a skin specifically made for the mac version of firefox.
this was the site *www.grapple.net.tf/ (do not install these skins for windows and linux)
it warned that if these skins were installed firefox would get destroyed.
but i thought howmuch problem can a skin give.also it was a .jar file
i installed it and voila the fox is gone.
i installed & uninstalled firefox atleast 3 times.i get a error
Error launching browser window:no XBL binding for browser.please help

Why did you install it if it had that warning.You should have let your friend try it first.

Be careful in the future, dude. Don't think to install anything that looks creepy to the eye.

hey try out this >>>>>

go to run nd type there
C:\Documents and Settings
open ur user name's folder....
Open the Tools menu and click Options...
Click the View tab,check "Show hiden file and folders"

open application Data folder
Open the Phoenix folder >> profiles >> default

Open the folder whose name contains a strange sequence of characters and a .slt extension.
Find the chrome folder
Rename the chrome folder or u can delete it ..

check if firefox is working..!!

hmmm... did u try removing the entries of firefox in the Windows registry after uninstall??

If not remove the entries in registry after uninstall,
reboot yo pc, then install it again.

Hope this will get it done.

Always read and obey the warnings carefully. That's why they have been given.

the skins looked good.and how much damage can a skin cause(thats what i thought).BUT I WAS WRONG

well i downloaded opera8 looks great works great..
think i'll stick to it for some time atleast.

Try some software for searching registry and remove all entries for Firefox.
Perform a full file search in Windows for firefox. Delete all files related to firefox. Maybe that can clean the system.

fire fox has quite certainly stopped workin because of an uncompatible skin. this has corrupted your profile. to over come the problem there are two ways.

firefox stores profiles in the folder
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

the easier way is to goto the above folder and delete the contents of the profiles folder. this way firefox turns back to normal. however then all your customizations for firefox will be lost i.e. to say of all extensions bookmarks stored passwords etc.
