Is there any software which can do all of the following?
1. Do backups at specific times daily. Even incremental is not needed. Full backups would be fine.
2. Be able to compress a folder that is specified.
3. Upload to an ftp server by logging in as a specified user.

Fwbackups looked promising, but unfortunately, it is not able to upload to ftp.

^^ you can write a script to upload the zip file by monitoring a folder at regular intervals.

hmmm... no, actually i want to give the software to some users. I have taught them to use linux and they would prefer a gui app. They wouldn't be able to access custom locations and folders with a script.

I've made one but it misses the scheduling feature. I'm looking into cron-helping modules, if successful I should post it by the night.

Heh.. I've a hand written script that does incremental backup (not just files, but database dump too) of 4 servers remotely and also maintains rotating 10 day snapshots :p

Anyway, if you want a software, try Amanda.
