Avast+vista problems

Im running the vista Beta.
I was using avast! and everything was running fine untill avast updated itself and after that whenever avast launches my system reboots [after dumping memory, and showing me a BSoD].
This happens whenever:
a> avast launches itself during startup [so i disabled it from auto starting]
b> i manually launch avast
I tried downloading a fresh copy but the same problem persists.
Now that i have uninstalled avast! everythings running normally. Problem is i dont have antivirus cover anymore.

My specs are: 512MB DDR400, 2.6ghz p4

I faced no problem when I used avast! in Vista RTM.
But if u r facing problems, then u can try Kaspersky Beta suite, which will work fine without any problem.

I think u should try AVG .It is really nice and free.
U can download the latest version from here *free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5

@ vishal: earlier even i did not face any problems, started facing problems after i installed the new version of avast. What are you using right now?

if u use mcafee 8.0i, it will be comatabile

Try disabling avast's Webshield and Network shield. It may solve your problem.

I found the problem. RC1 is not supported by the newer version of avast. [4.7] It only supports Rc2 and above.
I got the older version 4.6 from filehippo.

Problem solved.!
