avast givin trouble

avast on my machine has become corrupted.
i dunno y. i hav been usin avast 4 more dan a yr. all of a sudden, 2day morning i find it not workin

avast loads all rite. but after sum time, it givs da followin msg.

when i tried 2 uninstall it said da followin

i tried 2 reinstall but in vain

wat do i do now?

Try installing avast on a separate partition.It might help.

try reinstalling avast in the same folder. then try uninstalling it.

if this doznt help, try using 'advanced uninstaller pro's' forced uninstall option. *www.soft32.com/download_8359.html

or then try windows uninstaller utility

last resort : remove avast from startup. delete avast folder physically.
use a registry cleaner like ccleaner or 'ace utilities' to clear registry/pc junk.

if you are using winxp then try using system restore utility.

by the way which firewall u r using?as avast has some compatibility issue with ZA and i faced the same probs so think that mite b the problem.

i use zone alarm as u said. but since i dont use privacy features (cookie control, ad blocking etc) of zone alarm there is no chance of conflict i hope. after all, i am using this combo (avast+za) for a pretty long time

anyway. my prob is already solved.

I have been using a cocktail of Avast, Zone Alarm, Spybot, Ad Aware, Spywareblaster and recently MS Antispyware also for quite a long time with Win 98 and now with XP. So far no compatibility or other issues.
