ESET is proud to present a new beta version of NOD32 2.7 that brings full Windows Vista compatibility as well as significant improvements in terms of detection and cleaning of malware.

New features:
- full Microsoft Windows Vista 32/64-bit compatibility
- new Anti-Stealth technology against active rootkits
- new category for unwanted applications
- improved cleaning of already infected systems

The beta is available to trial users as well, for this purpose it has a temporary username and password embedded.

Current paying users can install it over the existing installation of NOD32, while choosing to preserve current settings which will keep the current username and password for update.

The beta is downloadable from:

Windows 9x/ME:
*u4.eset.com/beta/nd98enst.exe

Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista (32/64-bit)
*u4.eset.com/beta/ndntenst.exe

Please report any issues found to beta27@eset.com, any positive or negative opinions are welcome in this thread.

We hope that these improvements will contribute to even better protection of your computers.

Appox ~6MB .....after settling down....
wht are u saying
i mean to say is that when i start my machine (which is PIV 2.8 with 512MB RAM, 80gb hdd & WinXP_SP2, & some general software installed)
it shows in the taskbar 110MB
it means my Win uses 110MB by defaulf
n after installing antivirus
it shows 160MB usage by default
till now i havent runed any other program only win's services n anti

so this mean in my machine my anti uses 50MB Memory

I don't think its possible :(

But u can enable "Hide Inactive Icons" option in Taskbar Properties to hide it ;)
no man ur wrong
it is possible
u can hide it by going to "Taskbar & Startmenu Properties" & then go to "customize" & in the current item click on "always hide" option
see this image

Ahem!

Did u read my full post? ;)
dont mind but their is difference between "Hide Inactive Icons" & "Always Hide"
hide inactive icons only hide icons which are inactive for a certain period
& its is automatically shows when they are just clicked
but always hide option always hide icons after click also it hide icons within a 1-2 sec.
