AMD64 or P4..?? help guys

hi all,

plz help me guys...i wish 2 buy a new system for doin highend graphics and a bit of gaming..which processor should i go for..? Initially i thought abt AMD 64 bit...but few told me tht ,in case of games,only few of them work in 64bit..while others will create dashes on screen(even roadrash did so).And for getting the best of these 64bit processor, applications should be created so.Do the s/w's like
Maya,3DS Max,photoshop,After Effects etc work fine in this machine..??
Is it better to have a p4..?? Heard AMD is better wen worlkin on graphics...what is the solution..?

Now...what graphics card should i go for.., giv me the one tht
works great with animation works...Heard Geforce 6800 ultra is good..
how much it'll cost..(heard it is expensive)..which are the other cards tht will serve the purpose...???

amd is gud enuf 4 everything , especially gaming . it being a 64bit proccy , only prepares u 4 the future . currently 99.99% ppl r running xp 32 bit on their amd 64 bit proccies , without there being ne compatibility issues ( it works in both 32 n 64 bit environs equally well )

well man juz go for AMD it rocks.Betta den P4 any day.AMD64 (939soc) wid nforce4 chipset and wow man it will give u rock solid performance.6800gt will cost u sum where around 25k or above.u can also go for 6600gt which will cost sum where 11k its not dat bad either,but if 6800gt fits 2 ur pocket den no need 2 think further dats da best u can get.well i m using AMD64 widout any problem wid windows XP hav played all da latest games.else if u still wanna go for intel den if u can juz wait for few weeks as intel d has been launched but not yet available in india.

if u are only a casual gamer then intel is the way to go for u ... amd rules in the gaming arena ... and intel's hyper threading will be really helpful for cpu intensive tasks like photo and video editing .. try waiting for the intel pentium d (dual core) .. or go for a 3.0 ghz intel p4 lga-775 ... and a geforce 6800 ultra is one hell of a card and it perfoms very very well but since u r only a casual gamer a 6600gt will suffice.. buy one from gainward/leadtek ... and ya make sure u have a min 1 gb of ddr 400 mhz ram or ddr2 ram ...

go for AMD...Intel just cant afford to stand infront of it now...AND HT is not that amazing. I have many a friends who have their whole studio stuffed with their comps, Many suggested that AMD simply ROCKS in all fields...be it AUDIO / VIDEO editing or 3D editing or Animations.. Intel simply lacks the juice in it..Let them come with more innovating technology..Then we will see.
