My friend is going for a new system. He too is a die hard gamer and regularly rip DVDs. SO his choice of the procs are AMD 64 3500+ @2.2Ghz or AMD X2 3800+@2.0Ghz. His total system budjet is: 45K
3500+ costs around 10.3k in here.Want to know the price of X2 3800 in India (Kerala). Even if it is 2 to 3 k costlier , is it worth it???Or should he wait for another 1 or 2 month for the X2s to come????

His other config is:
A8NE @ 5600
2*512 @ 4200
160gb SATA @3800
VIEWSONIC 17" @6100
FORSA 7600GS @ 9000
ZEBRONICS ANTIBIOTIC CABINET 400W@ 2300
MOUSE + KEYBOARD @ 1000
-------------------------
32000

SO ALMOST 13 K IS LEFT. WHAT IS THE PRICE OF AMD 64 3700+ AND 3800+????

-----------
PLZ reply immediately......

Yes he should go for a 3800+ X2 processor.......There is no doubt that Dual core processor are better than single core processors...I think 3800+ X2 costs around 13K...but its worth it..

i dont think prices will fall this much but in your left budget u canconsider buying ps2 hehhehe or either go for a 5.1 speaker system

If he is a true gamer, then he is truely headed for disappointment with such a crap graphic card.

Buy Amd 64bit 3000 or at the max 3200 Venice (probably 1.4volts), 3200 in delhi arnd 7.7k
Ram you need is 2gb
Graphic card at the very minimum 6800GS 256mb which is close competition to a 6800GT, actually regard them more or less equal, this comes for about 11k

better still 7600GT/1800GTO class for 12-14k
take a look at benchies at xbit, though they show very high and unrealistic scores, you may atleast be able to find approx performance ratio

a true gamer should however try to get 7900GT or higher starting at about 17k with taxes, go to market section of techenclave.com/forums and contact member mohit for the sparkle brand cards.

go for sata II for around 4k, try to get as much space as possible, 200gb will also be faster, 250 maybe arnd 5-5.5k

the cpus you want won't help you with gaming anything near the graphic card but will surely take maybe 13-21k or so.

Yeah ... definitely the X2 3800+ is better than the 3500+ and is worth it ..

I think 3800+ X2 costs around 13K

Ur actually thinking right ??? It costs over 16k's if i'm not mistaken ... thats the reason i got my 3500+ in the first place. ...

Last time i called Kolkata AMD far East it is 17k-18k....looking from the recent prices.....falling...i dont think so in 6-7 months time it will fall to 10k..

I saw x2 3800+ in some international site at prices near 220$ and that is almost less than 10k!!! So i hoped it could be sub 13k in here. If its 16k+ im never goin for such a proc.
Do u think 19" monitor from Zenith @ 8.3 k is better than viewsonic 17" flat???

I think 7600GS easily outperforms x800gto or the 6800 plane vanilla (not sure bout gs).
see this: ive saved some bench results, dun remember from where!!

So goin for a 3500+(+oc), 2gb ram, 7600gs(+oc) would be the best choice.
Even if 7600GS is not as good as 6800gt it is 3k less expensive.
And please suggest a good 5.1 spkr for around 6k(not creative 5200).

aravind you are making a mistake, a big one.
nobody can help you.

go for a 7600GT or equivalent or higher, is that very difficult to understand

also no point going for a 19" monitor with a low end or even mid range card like 7600GT, 1024*768 might not look at good with 19" as on 17"

stick to 17" unless you want to get atleast a radeon 1900xt or geforce 7900gtx, preferably their crossfire/sli

Dont go for 19" wid geforce7900gtx

get 21" it rockz wid gtx

u get equalent to theatre frame rates

you are mistaken man
I too am getting a Radeon 1900XT today and am planning to play some games even at 1024*768 like Serious Sam 2

go with 17" monitor, he isn't even getting a 7900GT, for him a 17" is the max

7600 GS can outperform 6600 Gt . This is basically a midrange cards. Currently the lowest price for this card is from forsa at 7.5k. Even i m quite interested in this one... Waiting for reviews

go with 6800GS(compare benchies first) for arnd 11k.
How do you know 7600GS beats 6600GT, 7300GT beats 6600GT, 7600GT(PCI E) might be roughly equivalent or better to 7800GS(AGP)

@ akshay
The GS doesn't mean low end like the LE, whereas the only thing is the absence of DDR3 and a good cooling solution so the core is 50mhz slower...only 50mhz. Both the GS nd GT carries same pipeline counts, ie both are same cores and i think it can be easily made a GT with a bios update and it wont be as difficult (like making a 6800 to GT as it has to activate the xtra pipelines, but here no pipeline activation is necessary, only clock is diff). GS carries DDR2 at somewhat 800MHZ and GT has DDR3 at 1.2 or 1.2 GHz, so not much diff here also.

Also Forsa is using a Zalman model copper haetsink which brands like Asus nd MSI claims very expensive. So it can be easily ocd.

Ive another doubt. How come a Forsa card sold by Tec Com??The other cards displayed there are from tec com itself.??? Can I get it from a regular tec com dealer?? will the price be increased for shipping as it has to come from Forsa???nd what bout the warranty??

Ok Ill settle for 17" nd which is the best 17" CRT under 7k???good in perfomance nd looks??

Hey guys, you notice dat in newer games nd benchmarks 7 series outperforms 6 series?? I think 7600GS would outperforms 6800GT in future games nd benchs. Also heard somewhere dat only 7 series supports some visuals in Vista....So better future proof I think. Also if going for 7600GT, will have to look some other brads like ASUS or MSI which might be twice expensive nd I dun want the bundled games as there are adding its price to the cards(get it easily burned from local game centre nd dun like originals).....

The 7600GS carries same no. of pipelines compared to 6800GT and twice pixel shader engines. nd the card is smaller nd consumes less power.

Also the DDR3 used in 6 series is slower, ie only 500mhz effective nd 7600GS has 400mhz so there is more room for overclocking.
As 7600GS consume less power it doesnt require external power so an xpensive PSU can be avoided and go for 450w zebrinics or intex for 900 or 700.
