    i have w2k OS ... logged-in as admin ... bt still whenever i want 2 scandisk or defrag, it says u don`t have admin rights ...

    r there any new rights 2 b +ded ???

    recently i have renamed admin 2 my name ...

    whot should i do ???

    I think he means he changed the default name "ADMIN" to his name .

    @ax3 :- try this

    create a new User and make him administrator :lol:

    hey tried it bt still cannot scandisk my drive, where w2k is installed ...

    it says u need exclusive rights ...

    woh kaha se lavu ...

    well..
    when it shows login screen then type username as
    Administrator
    password :
    as you set for first time for first account !
    then it must be right!

    By running: (Start -> Run)
    gpedit.msc

    safe mode

    run the OS in safe mode then login as administrator and the password that you enter during the installation of the OS, this may give you all the rights.

    Log in!! in ur Windows in safe mode & then watever is the newer account U see in the welcome list out ur admin password in it & delete all other login's of ur computer & try disk scandisk this shd work out ...

    After this create one new account with administrator privileges & try it from tht account too....

    bt deleting this acc. means losing all my internet history

    &

    in w2k, does the os allows only the main drive 2 b scanned @ startup ???

    &

    iam logged on as admin bt w2k doesn`t recognise me as admin, whot 2 do ???
