Tansmitting more than one signal over a single channel/line is called Multiplexing.

What is the technique used for transmiting several cable TV channels over a single co-axial cable (in CATV systems) ?

I want to know the exact technical terminology of the technique used.

i m not very sure .... but i think its called "WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing)"

Its not WDM, WDM is a technology which multiplexes several optical carrier signals on a single optical fibre by using different wavelengths of laser light to carry different signals.

Even I am not sure about the exact term for the technology used in co-axial systems.
