A problem wirh XP Home

In my office PC with Win XP Home, when I do the three finger salute to Redmond (Ctrl-Alt-Del) I do not get the screen that I get at home. It is more NT like with buttons of Task Manager, Shut down, Log off etc. And despite pressing task manager, nothing happens lately. Though with XP, I do not see the BSOD, but I had to power off the system to kill the unresponsive application. What could have gone wrong??

To get task manager when u press ctrl+alt+del do this.

>Go to Control Panel
>Go to User Accounts
>Select 'Change the way users log on or off'
>If u get a dialog box pops up, just click cancel
>Check 'Use the welcome screen' option
>Click on 'Apply options' button

Now try pressing ctrl+alt+del, and u will find task manager.
