so my cousin wants a new gaming PC.he's elder than me and is not into hardware(but much into software) and he likes racing games so he wanted me to assemble a gaming pc for him to play games like The Crew, DriveClub, Next Car Game, Rivals, etc.


1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?

Ans: Daily use and Racing Games like Rivals, Driveclub.


2.What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.

Ans:25-30k

3. Planning to overclock?

Ans: No.


4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Windows 7 x64


5. How much hard drive space is needed?

Ans: 1TB
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans: Resuse. 720p i.e 1280 x720

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Monitor and probably optical drive





8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:End of this month.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Assembler.


10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Ranchi. I hate the IT shops here..they are noobs of level -9000..i'll only go to them for assembling and if i'll get it at a cheaper rate. I prefer online shops.


11. Anything else which you would like to say?

Ans: Only racing games. No monitor. Other daily uses. WANT A PLAIN CHASIS.(i'll mention the name like which chasis it should be).

4GB 1333MHz RAM

1TB HDD

Antec VSK4450B with 450W SMPS (THE CHASIS SHOULD BE PLAIN LIKE THIS)

Sapphire R7 250 2GB(availiable @ FK for 6.5k!!!)

adityak469, please specify the resolution of the monitor 1st so that we can suggest a Graphics card accordingly. Also for motherboard, try to spend a little to get a AMD 970 chipset based motherboard like Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 @ 5.2K. They offers newer chipset, better compatibility with AM3+ processors and also better featureset.

Corsair VS450 2.3K (i'd prefer Antec VP450p @ 2.8K)
Seagate 500GB 3k (i'd prefer Seagate 1TB @ 4K)

Total 30.5K
if you take the items i've written in brackets then 34K, and they're worth the extra 3.5K

@funkysourav does he need a GTX 750Ti for 720p? And i'll be getting the 1TB HDD and the CM Elite 344 now. But it's like 2.7k on snapdeal[ Cooler Master Elite 344 CPU Cabinet (Silver) - Buy @ Best Price in India | Snapdeal ]...any other links? And i'll also be getting the Corsair VS450 ...i'll look into the mobo sometime later tho....

dont go for corsair vs series psus. antec vp450p should be the minimum. also such a lower end motherboard is not recommended.

kingston hyperx blue 4gb - 2.7k
gtx 750-10k
wd blue 1 tb - 3.8k
antec vp450p -2.6k
local cabby -0.7k. upgrade to a better one later.

well i asked him and he wants a cabinet like the one i mentioned..pure plain....and for the parts, FX6300 is fixed, Antec 450p is fixed, struggling to chose the GPU, WB 1TB Blue is also fixed..i have a spare RAM [ G.Skill NT DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (F3-10600CL9S-4GBNT) - G.Skill: Flipkart.com ] so the RAM is also fixed..

make sure it is the antec vp450p model only. what is the remaining budget for gpu??

local shop? :eek: if you go to local shops here and ask for like a GPU(well they won't understand GPU, you'll have to say a graphics card) which can play all games on medium, they'll hand you a GT210. I think that explains everything about them.
