Hi Guys

As we all have seen 2GPU's on a Single Motherboard with Nvida's SLi
Can we expect for 2 CPU's on the same MotherBoard.

I know there are server Motherboard's with 2 CPU capabilities
but i am asking for Desktop Motherboards

It will be a total mean machine with 2 CPU's and 2 GPU's pumping power
to what ever you through at it.

Do let me know , if something of this sort is expected in the
future.

There already is one setup i guess.I dont remember who made that board but it is based on Nforce 4 and supports 2 Opterons with SLI.I am not sure though.

Mostly future will be in Multicore and not nulti CPU.

wht's the difference b/w multicore and multicpu?
Multiple CPU:- As the name says, it means two or more individual processors used in a computer...for example, some Servers use two Intel Xeon processors...Multiple CPUs r ideal for servers because there will be a large number of requests and these will be handled by both the CPUs, thus easing up the load.....disadvantage of multiple CPU setup is that power consumption is more and also requires efficient cooling solution because each individual CPU dissipate heat....
see these multiple CPU supporting motherboards from Asus and Intel...

MultiCore CPU:- it's a processor in which two or more processor cores r integrated on a single chip..it's like having two seperate processors on a single chip and plugged into a single slot....

some the advantage of Multi-Core CPU over Multiple CPUs r:-
1]Reduced Power consumption
2]More efficient simultaneous Data processing
3]Faster communication between the processor cores as they r on a single chip..
4]Reduced thermal dissipation compared to Multiple CPUs...

So uptil what time can we expect Desktop MultiCore CPU's

And what will be its like Processing Speed[GHZ],FSB etc..

Are AMD and Intel Both into developing MultiCore CPU's.

If any one has Links on the this topics please post here if there
is detailed Info on it.

bringing together 2 CPU's may become a reality in near future...
but the question is DO WE NEED IT??????

Do we need it?
With the games like DOOM 3. You wouldn't mind having a powerful rig would you?

now that would be a while to see.....but u know what i would really like to see....it would be AMD and Intel joining On the same mobo*deephousepage.com/smilies/beerchug.gif

know thats not possible though would be a great combo

@Andy tell this to the Intel CEO, he would faint
OR imagine to say nVidia CEO to join hands with ATi. Then there would be a X850 sitting closely with a 6800GT in the SLI. Gosh! 8) Dream on..... Dreams do come true....... :p

We sure have dream of anything and the CEO's of the
Intel/AMD/Nvida/ATi will suerly faint after hearing our dreams.

@Geek_rohit: well if you want to play games like doom3 and stuff, then one might want to put Two Geforce SLi cards, that is each of those cards had two GPUs and then put them on an SLi mobo. So, theoretically, you have four GPUs running......But again, the question is, do we NEED IT?
