i am not able to decide whether i should get i5 (2 cores + 2 virtual cores) or i7 (4 cores + 4 virtual cores) for general purpose matlab, photoshop cs5, and similar cpu intensive applications. the main question here is, is it really worth spending money in i7 (around 4-5k more) than i5 also...
