Re: Is the config ok for my need? & 2 other questions
@thetechfreak
its Intel G2010 2.8 GHz
@deathblade
So you mean, a quad core processor is best suited for my need. Can you suggest a Intel config for that?
Also, i just discovered that the gpu i mentioned needs atleast 400w power.
The purpose of this machine is to run Maya/Max 2012+, Photoshop CS5, Zbrush & play few Games( although not a priority). Here is the config i have choosen:
Sapphire 1 GB HD 7750
Quite Key Keyboard
Intel G2010 2.8 GHz
Kingston 2GB DDR3 x 2
WD 500GB HDD
LG 15'6" LED monitor
MSI H61M-P20 Mobo...
Probably the last question, is overheating a common phonomenon with laptops/notebooks even today. Or the business range are better in maintaining temperature.
I would like to know if there is any laptop out there which does not overheat or has less overheating problems.
I mean small size which is easy to carry. Of course i cannot quote on the weight, because it varies with model.
I found the trackpad and button very comfortable in HP, sony and lenovo models than asus. Are the trackpad & button are good of those model you are suggesting..?
One more issue...
I will be using the notebook/laptop mainly for this following things:
1. Programming in different ide( also contains running database servers & web servers)
2. Photo editing using photoshop, lightroom
3. Internet browsing
4. Office documentations
5. HQ Movies and music
Looking for longer...
Most brands Business line up offer Matte screen. Except one thing i don't understand is Truebit technology, provided by Toshiba, which they is a fusion of both..@!!
But one thing for sure, glossy only attracts, but not productive.
Music: itunes(out of the blue); rather gives excellent music
Video: VLC

some googling fetched me this:
1. Buying a barebone laptop
2. Buying other hardware(processor, hdd, ram, wireless card etc.)
3. Assembling/ Install os
But the concern is, the barebone itself cost more than a budget prebuild laptop today.
Most often, buying a laptop either gets you extra feature not required, or you are left out of the required ones. So, is it possible to assemble a laptop just according to your need. Is it worth doing?
Need a general purpose laptop. Irrespective of config would you suggest me a gloss screen or matte one? Most of the present models seems to have the former one.
Its worth buying. They make very reliable products. I have been using mac book air for almost 6 years now, dropped it more couple of times, and its running without any problem whatsoever.
But with this budget, you can have more powerful choices in windows platform.
