its actually not a beta, but technical Preview 1 autocomplete will be introduced in Opera 9 final, only some part is implimented in TP1 (as a part of webforms)

first of all get urself opera 8.5, its free !!! type opera:plugins in address field and check if media player plugin is properly installed. also check if the site u r trying to use is using IE only Activex content... Opera and FF don't support activex

This is really odd... most probably your profile files are getting corrupted due to some reason (probably bad shutdown) anyways you can always back up your wand.dat file from your profile directory. If you happen to face problem again ... just replace ur wand.dat with backup wand.dat HTH
