    Multi monitor utilities / tools

I've been using a multi-monitor setup from quite a while now and decided to actually review some of the applications that I've used along the way that helped me out. I am also looking out for some of the applications I have not used, but could be helpful in the same task. If any of you use...

    Debian GNU/Linux 5 "lenny"

Re: Debian GNU/Linux 5 "lenny" [Review] Actually, we haven't reviewed Ubuntu 10.10 yet. Our fault. We are on it. I agree that the review posted earlier would have been perhaps more useful. However I still think it is better to review it, than not at all. Debian is a popular choice, and a...

Linux is a doomed operating system; here's how you can save it

Actually I think having a couple of password protected files lying around is more of a giveaway than simply renaming them or putting them in an unexpected folder. :P

Linux is a doomed operating system; here's how you can save it

That's all fine, but IMO that's overdoing it. Linux makes it too easy to just create disk images and mount them. Why bother with encryption? It is unlikely you will be hiding your porn from someone who has the capability to mount a disk image in Linux. Each and every person I've met till now...

Here comes the first build of Firefox 4!

Not by a long shot. But now it's half as slow instead of one third. :P Give it time, more performance improvements are on the way.

Nokia unleashes N900 on Indian geeks for Rs. 30,639

Android dev phones are available from Google, but you need to be signed up as a developer to buy them. AFAIR they cost $300 or $400. Even now I would recommend Maemo over Android. Maemo is just more open. Even if Nokia releases their next device with MeeGo, Maemo is built on Linux, it won't go...

    Official WWDC 2010 discussion thread

^^ LOL! Even when they make a good product everyone has to oversell it. From what I see, they announced that their ebook software will finally be able to read pdf -- standard for eBooks -- and the audience applauded. Who else thought that that comment on the iPad being magical cause it it got...

    Chrome OS

Yeah, computers are tricky little *****es! I used to run some old version of VMware and Bochs on my old Win98 system with 192MB ram! Then with my system after that with 1GB RAM. Now I have 4GB it it still doesn't seem enough! I guess I should start saving for 8GB.

    Gladinet Cloud Desktop 2

Re: Gladinet Cloud Desktop 2 [review] True! Right now for me, storing data online is only feasible for documents and images. Sigh, someday we will catch up to where the world is today, and be able to upload HD videos. Of course the world would have moved on by then...

    Firefox nightlies go 64bit!

Yup, tried it. It id not faster than the 32-bit one, at least in sunspider. They got nearly the same score, with the 64-bit one behind by a few milliseconds. So right now, not worth it unless you want to open hundreds of tabs which take more than 3GB of memory. Which will be difficult since...

    Chrome OS

I'd say 1GB ram is not enough, since you need to allocate at least 512MB for any virtual OS you run. Better to have at least 2GB. Anyway, Chrome OS ran very slow on VMware Player last I checked. I haven't tried any recent builds, but I doubt this would have changed. You also have the...
