I think the PSU's faulty. I tried connecting my DVD drive with it and it didn't boot at the first try. It takes atleast 2-3 presses from the power button to get it started, so I think that the PSU isn't delivering the proper power. I got mine from flipkart too, about 3 days back so I'll start...
I changed my current PSU (Cooler Master RS600) to a new Corsair VS550 but when I switch on the machine, the HDD, the fans and the processors turn on, but there's no display. The display works fine on the older, CM PSU.
The config:
Processor: Intel Core i5 2400
Motherboard: Gigabyte...
I'm looking to replace my current PSU (which in all probability is the reason why the monitor shows 'No Signal' when the card is plugged in, and works without it). My current setup:
CPU: Intel i5 2400
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2-B3
HDD: Seagate 500GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GBx1
GPU...
Hmmph... this is going to be awful. This is the second time this mobo has faultered, and it's not even two years. The first time I got it back from repairs, Gigabyte's CC called me up to check what my experience with their new mobo was. @sumonpathak, would you by any chance know how much (the...
An update. Removed the card, and the PC ran fine for about 30 minutes, froze and rebooted. I think at this time it'd also be important for me to list the specs, so here they are:
CPU: Intel i5 2400
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2-B3
HDD: Seagate 500GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GBx1
GPU...
I have the MSI HD6850 card, bought last June. I've been using it since then, no major problems, most games run on medium/high settings fine. About a week back, some games started to freeze between gameplay, and then after a few days, Win7 would hang whenever I'd be using it, games running or...
Done & done. Called up SMC to arrange a visit to their Nehru Place shop with this configuration. Just one last question :) I know SMC are reputed here and on the web too, should I get it assembled from them? No problems there, right?
They don't have the GS600 listed on their website, might be in stock at their shop in Nehru Place, dunno... I'll jot down a few of these and take them with me. Plus I'm leaving in about 30 mins to get this baby assembled today!
1. What is the purpose of the computer?

Thanks phil2097, I'll take a look at some of the shops near CTC... incidentally I looked up DDR2 RAMs at SMC's website, and they still sell some. They only have the 1GB @ 667MHz, I was looking for a 2GB stick, guess they don't have it anymore.
I've this ancient Acer 5052 laptop that really needs an experts service. The fan turns off after every service and one of the RAM slots might be blown too. I live in Indirapuram (I remember the bliss of living near to Nehru Place now :| ), so is there a good place that services laptops in Nehru...
Mods, I couldn't find an appropriate forum for this, and the hardware forum does say all the queries that don't fit it in other sections, go here. So I've this LG 26" LCD TV that I bought in 2009, and all of a sudden, the picture went blank a few seconds after switching it on, and the audio...
@Cilus: I don't have a motherboard choice nailed down as of now, that is probably the grayest of all areas... will definitely look at Gigabyte 880GA UD2H as you said.
PSU should now be one of either Corsair/Gigabyte as mentioned by ico...
And the reason I chose the Phenom processor is because...
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
GPU: nVidia/ZOTAC GTX 460 1GB DDR5
RAM: Corsair/GSkill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3
HDD: 1TB Western Digital
MotherBoard: Gigabyte 785G-UD2H
Monitor: Dell S2209W
Cabinet: CM Elite 310
PSU: CM one, remains to be seen...
But, yes, with the UPS and me...
Cilus, I just enquired about the config I chose, at SMC, Nehru Place, and the whole cost comes out to be about 40k on the dot. Thanks, but I'll go with my config instead...
