Those icons are default ones just after installation. You'll always find those same icons if u install openSUSE. I don't know where one can get those official openSUSE icons or how I can send u the icons.

Novell's OpenOffice is so much better than original
OpenOffice....it handles .doc files better than any other
non-MS office suite that I've seen....you'll almost...

Install Ubuntu first...IF u have any problems then we'll be glad to help.
But relax....u likely won't have any problems. One more thing: Ubuntu does NOT detect my serial mouse (and neither does Fedora etc.) but its VERY EASY to make it work. Let us know if u have problems. Btw...

I bought the LFY May issue...DVD turned out faulty.
Bought Chip May issue...DVD was faulty.
Bought Chip May issue AGAIN.....all FC5 iso's are working except fc5 disc-2!!:(
The FC5 disc-2 iso can be fixed but one has to have a live internet...

Hey mediator....u should give Suse 10 (or better 10.1 when its out this May) a try...its known to be very good with laptops...plus its very easy to administer & use with so many gui tools for admin.....it DOES have all things u desire:)
