    Hey dude - You say that WMV files are huge? It's a compression format, which means that it will make the files smaller. How can they be huge? DAT files are more heavier than WMV files. And get this - QCD 4.5 and Winamp 5 can play WMV files.

    Maybe your system is getting overheated or some thing - if the problem occurs only "sometimes", then maybe it's related to the hardware. Check if the CPU and cabinet fans are working properly. This is a long shot - but check if your UPS or CVT or whatever you use is working properly...
