hi all. well, i have been programming in C/C++ for 3+ yrs. so i decided to shift to .net and learn C#. wanted to know good books that are recommended for learning it.

three problems. 1. i have a 15 inch monitor, however ubuntu defaults to 1024x768 at 50hz!! that's waay too low. i wanted to run it at 800x600 at 85hz atleast but it doesn't have an option for it. max refresh rate is 59 for 800x600 and 54 for 1024x768. this really hurts eyes. any suggestions...
