u most probably would want to use smbclient,
with smbclient u can access windows shared drives.... or u could use tsclient which GUI for rdesktop, if desktop sharing in windows is enabled...
no offence but i never like windows... the only reason i have to use it, is games!!!!
for other things there is gnu/linux..... each distro has its own fan base.... i'm yet to see ubuntu........ by the way does anybody have tried "Mandriva 2k7 spring free dvd ed"???
