ax3 I am having HDD with USB but cannot be detected on DVD player, atleast it should show some .mp3 files or .mpg file or any file format for which the dvd player is compatible.
I had recently Purchased a Curtis DVD player 1084 which has a SD card slot & a USB port.
I can able to access my flashdrive(1GB) content through it. But when I try to access the 80GB USB HDD it does not detects it. What can be the reason?
I will suggest to install OS with all the latest service packs & applications as you require & create a Image file using ghost.
You can burn this into a CD-R/DVD.
There you go with cloning OS with SP + Apps.
Assuming that I do not have comp, then this will be the way to read from an external HDD USB conectivity or USB flashdrive, through DVDplayer not necessary it should be portable.
I would like to know if there is any DVDplayer which has USB port so that I can view images / movies or listen the songs?
Or else can I add a USB port/card to my DVD player (any make)?
Is there any kit or casing available, like that for external USB harddrive, which will make the HDD standalone so that one can copy loads of movies & watch it directly on TV or Monitor?

How much will the 5.1ch home theatre system costs, I mean, It starts with what range? I know one of my friend had purchased a JBL system for 20K. Thats toooooooo costly for a home theatre system.
if the reason for buying this case is clipping(limiting) of your HDD to 32GB then I would suggest you to look for disk overlay softwares which will allow you to fully utilise your HDD capacity.
I got answer to almost all my questions thanks. But one thing I need to know is why does some DVD have audio option of sterio & 5.1 ch doesnt that makes any sense.
Is there any way to flash firmware of DVD player I am having CyberHome 300s dvd player for which I want to flash & place new firmware if available b'cos it does not plays some DVD format, whereas the latest DVD player with no change in model have new version of firmware. Can anybody help me out...
I have a DVD player (from US) which has only one pin for 5.1 ch system as compared to indian DVD players having 4 to 5 pins(2 front, 2 rear & woofer) for these system. Will anybody help me to know difference between these & suggest which system I should go for.
Most of us buy home theater system with criteria more the speakers better will be the output, if one has a DVD player & connects 5.1 ch system to but the DVD (like most of the indian movie DVDs) you play does not comes with audio encoding of 5.1 ch than does the 5.1 ch system worth?

Can't we think of something out of Windows & Linux, something which loads fast which is light (taking less RAM memory space) hence applications running on it can utilise the memory at its most. why do we require to upgrade our system with new OS? ACtually the OS should get lighter with latest...
Before buying just google for DVD player hack & you can unlock your DVD player to make it region free. There is a website where you can select the make & model to hack the region code to make it region free. 8)
