Amongst the OS, the best is Maemo imho. But that doesn't mean N900 is the best phone out there. A N900 with a capacitative touchscreen, less bulk, better battery, nice twitter app would have been a killer phone.
Now the next best OS is Android! And I love my SGS! :)

Well. It can't replace a digital camera due to lack of optical zoom. But for everything else its as good if not better than 'many' digital cameras (not all)
Quite fast compared to S^1. Screen is responsive but there are occasions when it doesn't respond that well. Not as responsive as some...

Hmm. I am willing to somehow manage with the thickness of the phone & lack of portrait browsing throughout the phone. But there is simply no good app for Twitter. And Twitter is one of my most used application on a mobile. :(
My first impressions after using the N900 for 2 days:
Positives:
1. The display is breathtaking. Its beautiful.
2. Multitasking on the N900 is one of the best I have seen. The multitasking interface is just awesome.
