yes it does. and so is the catalyst control center(ccc) installed but there is no option in the ccc to change scaling. i can only change resolutions from there and the rotations. nothing else. And the problem is that when i switch to a lower resolution, the image is not spread across the screen...

i have an acer aspire 5920 which i purchased in end april. Since last one month a red line appears on the right side of the monitor. This line is more prominent when the screen displays dark colours and most prominent when it displays black colour. What can be the problem? Any cure?
well there was no file named *.tmp. And i am not sure whether the command:
rm /root/.gconfd/saved_state
Was of any help. I executed it anyway.
But it was only after executing:
rm /root/.gnome2/session
that i was able to log into Gnome.

This problem was due to my drive not being able to switch itself to DMA Mode. I recently installed another copy of windows but this time a sp2 and not a sp3 and the problem got resolved.
