i think u hav SMART enabled in the bios and seems that ur HDD is on the verge, so u keep gettin the warnin. me thinks its about to die...of course the pros will be here to aid u shortly...;)
the noise from the drive is a "common" sign of approaching trouble. get ur drive serviced ASAP...the mouse thing...like raven said...seen it but nvr got to know why...:)
if u r using windowsXP go to RUN and type in "gpedit.msc" this is a very useful windows in-built tweaking utility. u'll find what u want here...:) of course, TweakXP is always there...;)
