    Rate My Rig

Well I have that PSU and its not even used to 50% capacity with my 8800 ultra SLi rig. This machine is water cooled with half a dozen hard drives, E8400 @4GHz, snd card with front bay etc. So it can handle a pair of 9800GX2 or triple 9800GTX cards easily. A single 8800 ultra eats more power...

    safe limit of overclocking

If its the G0 stepping, you can easily up the clocks to 3GHz on the stock heatsink. However if its the old B3 then the stock clocks of 2.4GHz will itself be an issue.

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

Have you heard any other speaker brand? Other than mass market stuff? Again that is not classified as electronics. Its an single system. All of those are crap made in china stuff rebadged by bose. By electronics I mean amplifiers. Bose itself uses Denon electronics in its showroom. Doesn't...

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

^^Pure junk post - Bose only makes crappy speakers. Doesn't make electronics - Even the top end creative speakers are pure junk... doesnt matter what soundcard one uses :D

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

Headphones are more accurate but speakers are more fun, they image far better, have the in your gut bass impact. Its a tradeoff... the best is to have both :D. The M-Audio Studiopros are available in india.

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

Yea have heard that piece of crap. My cousin bro has one. Sounds like rubbish. It has a bloated bottom, slightly forward sounding highs and a completely muddy midrange. For less than 100$, you can get the M-Audio Studio Pro AV30 which will whack the bose bigtime. Other options are the Klipsch...

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

What sound system do you have at home? Its upto you to believe or not but bose is complete crap. Zero value for money. Passive components exist in all decent speakers. All conventional speakers of decent build quality have an L-C-R crossover network. Certain designs such as the thiel CS2.4 are...

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

Bose has never done any innovation in Audio. They just have a great marketing department. If you tell me that Audio Research/Conrad Johnson/Thiel/Passlabs/Linkwitz Labs/Dynaudio/B&W or something similar has done innovation, I would kinda agree but Bose is rubbish... absolute rubbish. You can...

Hi-Fi Music: Bass & Treble Controls

Bass and Treble controls are basically not worth it. I use a vacuum tube preamplifier and a solid state power amplifier. The only controls the preamp has are volume and input selection. What treble/bass controls do is add another stage of passive filtering components into the signal path...

Crysis killing my 8800GTS 512 MB G92 SLI

16xAA? That too in crysis.... Are you drunk? My ultra SLI struggles at 4xAA. Disable antialiasing and it should be fine.

    An insane gaming rig ;)

Have something quite similar but with two cards not three. Three cards are kinda pointless as one has to sacrifice the sound card which is simply not acceptable to me. Of course I run watercooling instead of phase change as the latter is not a 24x7 feasible solution.

    UPS with best voltage regulation

APC SmartUPS is what you should be looking at. They cost double of what the normal ones cost though! I have a 1500VA one that costed me roughly 18 grand. Never seen it go to battery backup mode because of voltage drops/spikes. It has an inbuilt AVR...

What if the PC is not well grounded/earthed..

The rig in my sig had no earthing for a couple of months as my home's earthing was borked. Its now fixed though. Again no issues other than a few little shocks here and there. Lack of earthing can't kill a machine as beyond the power supply, there is no AC anyway. At most the PSU can get die...

What if the PC is not well grounded/earthed..

Nothing will really happen if the machine is not grounded other than getting those mild shocks if you touch it. I've had a P3 running without grounding for all its life before I sold it (i.e. 3 years).

i am looking for a slr digital camera.pls help

18-55 is the focal length. Its 18mm at the wide end and 55mm at the narrow end. Multiplying by 1.6 crop factor on canons its roughly equivalent to 27-82mm. The 55-250 is equivalent to 88mm to 400mm or so. Effectively in point and shoot lingo this is ~15x zoom with two lenses. The 18-55mm lens...
