Bought the i5-2500k and ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 today. They didn't have the latter in stock in Nehru Place so they ordered 5 units from Bombay. I'm talking about the people at Computer Empire. Not the shop either, but their people sitting upstairs in 308. The guy who made all the phone calls to get...
IVB will be a little beyond my budget, I'm guessing. I can still afford an i5-2500k.
I was looking for NZXT Source 210 Elite as the earlier posters have recommended.
Thanks, everyone.
Also,
which combo do you think is better?
i5-2500k with ASRock Z77 Extreme4, OR
AMD FX-8120 with ASUS...
Yea guys, I got the 7850 for 16k and I know NOW that it would have cost me a little above 15k online. Even I thought I could get it for a bargain at 15k. But that guy wouldn't budge below 16k.
But I guess, it was one of those moments where you finally find ONE place which was selling the thing...
Slight updates.
1)According to Nehru Place - AMD has stopped sending them Phenom Series motherboards as it is desperately trying to sell the Bulldozer series. Which is a bummer for me because I really wanted to get the X6 1090T. Maybe I'll try Flipkart, although it'll cost me a grand more...
Thanks, guys.
I went to SMC yesterday just to know the prices of some of the stuff (the rig will happen sometime late April or early May). I was told that the 12-13 pieces of 7850HD were sold out and that I should check in about 10 days. That is the GPU I'd like to get (low power consumption as...
Thanks guys.. I'll look into the NZXT issue.
Also, do you guys think I could save some $$ by going for a Seagate 500GB instead of a WD? In a few months, I'll be getting a 120GB SSD.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Generic answers will not work. Be exact and avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming. Mainly Skyrim and the Total War series.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more...
Hmmm... I see. Which one do you suggest? I've been hearing that Skyrim is a very CPU centric game as opposed to a GPU centric game like BF3. Do you think that should help me decide?
Again, sorry if I sound like a noob. I am one.
Thank you all for replying.
Those specs I mentioned, they are just half complete... as in I'm waiting for my next paycheck to buy the PSU and GPU and hopefully, an SSD.
@thetechfreak - I haven't bought it, yet. But I'm planning to wait to see the prices and specs of the new GPUs coming out...
Thanks for the reply, Cilus. In fact I did read that thread a day after I posted my query and it helped. I liked the way you left the 30k slot open for the AMD 7xxx series that are coming out.
Much appreciated,
A happy new year to all.

Ans: Gaming. I want to max out Skyrim.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced...
Here's the config I'm planning to buy -
Intel Core i5 2500K
MSI Z68A-GD55
(2x4gb) G-Skill Ripjaw XF3
Storage - 1TB Seagate
GPU - NVidia GTX 560 Ti (or maybe AMD 6950 2gb)
My question is,
Will I be able to play both Skyrim and BF3 with max settings and maybe 4X AA?
