that's called a muah virus. Removal is quiet simple. You need to delete few registry and a folder from C: drive thats it. It doesn't cause much of a damage to the system. I would strongly recommend manual removal cause that is the easiest way. Google for it.

That same error would come when you are not connected to internet and you try to update. So i think there is something wrong with your internet. AVG is not able to access internet to update.

Choto Cheeta Kaspersky has already found that thing it cleans it but it comes back again. It even gave me this error some time back.
