I am planing to buy a new PC. I want help decide if i go with branded PC or Assemble one.

Branded PC - Inspiron 3268 Desktop

* 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-7400 processor
* 8GB RAM,2TB HDD
* Intel® HD Graphics 630 with shared graphics memory
* Dell Monitor E2016HV

Total cost = Rs.46,190

Assembled PC

I build a similar PC configuration as above

System Builder - Core i5-7400 3GHz Quad-Core, MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker India

Total cost = Rs. 48,783.41

Price is slightly more even with out keyboard, mouse

I see price increase may be due to some of the components i selected are not optimal. One problem i see with Assembled is you just throw in components. With branded PC, they do lot of research before building a model as they mass produce exactly same model and plan to support it for years. My current PC use Thermaltake V9 Black Edition cabinet, it have a large FAN on top, that stopped working, i can't get a replacement for it, if it was a branded PC, i may able to get replacement as they guys will have it if it is a recent model.

I watched some youtube videos. Branded PC build quality looks very good. They have better cabling than what my PC currently have. I seen some assembled PC with very good cable management, but only possible if you have a skilled assembler.

If i am going to Assembled PC, i want newer CPU like Intel 8th Gen or Ryzen (i had bad experience with AMD years back) and 16 GB RAM.

As for DELL, i am not sure how easy it is to upgrade. I don't plan to play any games. So don't see need for GPU. But i like to upgrade RAM to 16 GB, also add an SSD for boot drive. This is possible ?

Unless you are buying a PC for office,it is always better to go for an assembled one.You will get much more warranty(3 years on processor & mobo,5 years min on good psu,10 years on good ram etc,all branded PCs come with 1 year warranty by default). Also getting replacement part for branded PC is more difficult & costlier(think of Apple branded cables/adapters compared to dime-a-dozen android options). Fill the questionnaire as suggested in above post first if you want to go the assembled PC way.

Has OP filled the questionnaire yet? Has he mentioned what he'll be using it for? Don't go on posting configs just to match OP's budget.
