Customer Support is probably the best choice you've got. I hope they cover software reinstallations somewhere on their service. Or if you're a risk-taker, just do a full format, then run a clean set of installation for windows xp, using another installer.
If you have the Windows XP Installation CD, you can try to repair your copy of XP. Try checking your RAM as well. I remember having some weird glitches on my PC before due to faulty RAM.
DDR is more expensive than DDR2 nowadays. Which really sucks because my RAM modules can only take on DDR.
There is no other way to be able to shift to using DDR2 without replacing the mother board, right?
How much do DDR2 and DDR rams cost in your area?
Check the power cables, the RAM, your'd HD connection, and check also if your monitor is ON and working. Sometimes my sister would lessen the brightness settings of my monitor and dimming it out. check that too.
