Deadpool might kill the Marvel Universe, again

Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso recently dropped some strong hints on Twitter about Deadpool going on a killing spree of epic proportions again.

For the longest time, the world didn’t really know a lot about Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth. He was just another hired mercenary/contract assassin who happened to have a mouth on him. But comic-reading folk actually took a liking to the guy and so he started becoming more and more mainstream. He’s had quite a few comic series’ to his name since, and we’re talking well before he catapulted to his current superstar status.

One of these miniseries featured the Mouthy Merc facing off against (and successfully killing) just about every big shot in the Marvel Universe. We’re not kidding, the 2012 miniseries is actually called Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, and quite literally at that. The plot twist at the end of series is something only Deadpool can pull off. Don’t worry, we won’t spoil it for you.

Well, Marvel is dropping strong hints that history might soon repeat itself. Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso dropped a tweet with some promo artwork accompanied by: “Respawn #Deadpool.” On the cover, you can see Deadpool holding a string of paper dolls representing Captain America, Wolverine, Punisher, Rogue, and more. Then you’ve got silhouettes in the background featuring Hulk, Spiderman, Daredevil the Cap and Deadpool himself.

Here’s the post:

The first DKTMU was basically what happened when the Regenerating Degenerate finally lost his sh*t and went HAM on the MU. We’re sure you’re wondering how he managed to kill certain folk in the Marvel Universe but you don’t really want us to spoil that for you, do you?

Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything about the new Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe again, but if the first “killogy” is anything to go by, prepare yourselves for more creative kills and fourth wall breaking.
