RAID Combinations

I've read so much about RAID (0,1,5,6,10) but have a few questions with setting up a RAID different types of disks :
1) while creating RAID combination can different types of disks be used. Eg- 512 GB HDD 7500 rpm and 512GB SATA SSD or is it that both the type of drives should be same.
2) while creating RAID 5 combination can the parity strips be an SSD?
3) while creating RAID 6 combination can one of the two parity strips be an SSD?

Hi Sacchu
here are your answers to the raid combinations :

1) Different sized disks can be stripped to create RAID 0,
Eg 512 GB HDD and 1TB HDD but the system will recognize on 1TB instead of 1.5 TB.
As for different type of disks would not recommend as because of the speed difference the system is vulnerable to failure.
Different sized disks can be mirrored to create RAID 1,

2) while creating the RAID 5 you can use the parity drive as SSD,
this can also help to recalculate the data in case you loose any drive

3) while creating the RAID 6 you can use both the parity drives as SSD,
this can also help to recalculate the data in case you loose any drive
and will also increase your write speed significantly
